The Alabama mother who went missing after stopping to assist a young child stuck on a busy highway was discovered alive on Saturday night.

Prior to 10:45 p.m., Carlethia “Carlee” Nichole Russell, 25, arrived back at her Hoover, Alabama, home, the Hoover Police Department reported to WBRC.

Russell, a nursing student, was reportedly dropped off at the house and “appeared to be in shock.”

According to authorities, she was taken to a nearby hospital for assessment.

The third-largest city in the state, Birmingham, lies about 10 miles south of Hoover.

More information would be made public, Hoover police assured The Post, as they carry out their inquiry into Russell’s whereabouts over the two days of his abduction.

Russell vanished on Thursday night after helping a little child who was running loose on I-459, according to law police.

At roughly 9:30 p.m., a “scream” was audible on Russell’s end of the line, and the call was reported to 911 before she spoke with her sister-in-law 6 minutes later.

Within minutes of their arrival, the police discovered Russell’s moving vehicle, phone, and handbag.

She and the youngster she claimed were never located by the police.

Carlee’s mother, Talitha Russell, told the outlet, “In the course of the process, she got out of the car and my daughter-in-law could hear her asking the child if they were OK.”

The youngster did not reply, or at least she did not hear him or her reply. She then heard our daughter Carlee cry, and after that, all we could hear was noise coming from her phone, which turned out to be background noise coming from the freeway.

WBRC received traffic camera footage from Interstate 459 at mile marker 11.7, showing Russell’s car purportedly pulling over before she vanished.

After Russell’s job at The Woodhouse Day Spa in Birmingham had ended, she noticed the toddler while stopping to get lunch for herself and her mother.
